U-19 Lebanon 0-2 U-19 Oman – Post Game Interview With Coach Roy Abi Elias

U-19 Lebanese National Football team played their first game since the 2019 ISF World School Championship in Serbia, in which the Cedars were knocked out in the quarter/final after putting strong displays against good teams like Serbia, Bulgaria and Brazil.

Fouad Chejab Stadoum in Jounieh hosted on April 23 the game between Lebanon and Oman. The Cedars conceded twice in the second half without scoring.

Roy Abi Elias, Lebanon’s Coach, saw the two teams playing at the same level in the first half with chances for both sides. The low fitness level of some players allowed Oman to score two goals, including one just a minute before the final whistle.

Coach Roy used this game in order to give more experience to the squad ahead of the Asian Cup qualifications in November.

Please note that coach Roy will evaluate the level from the players of the diaspora this summer. Many players have expressed their willingness to represent the Cedars.

The main difficulty for Coach Roy is the lack of training due to the fact that There was no league for the 2001 category in Lebanon last year, so most of the players are not training since December 2018 and others since April 2018. It will need some time…

Lebanon will play against Oman for the second time in a row next Friday.
